Tools
There are a few tools that we can provide to help you with Offline Stations.
The Mediator
The Mediator is a lightweight, standalone Java service installed within your internal network. It acts as a secure bridge between your machines and Insights when direct internet connectivity is unavailable or undesirable.
The Mediator can receive events from Stations via HTTP or connect directly to machines using the OPC-UA protocol, allowing it to integrate with PLCs and industrial equipment that do not support web requests.
When connectivity between your internal network and Insights is interrupted, the Mediator reliably buffers events locally and forwards them once the connection is restored. This ensures no loss of instance or duration events and provides resilience against intermittent network outages.
By operating entirely within your private network, the Mediator reduces security exposure while enabling consistent, near-real-time visibility of machine activity in Insights.

Kotlin/Java library
We have a Kotlin based Java Library that we can provide for sending events to Insight. The library makes it easy to start and end duration events, create instance events and also takes care of being temporarily offline. Events that cannot be sent due to temporary network issues are stored locally and sent as a batch to Insight when it does come back online to ensure you never lose any events.
